Actress Jodi Benson Teases New Ariel Project!

We’ve had a LOT of big Disney announcements this week.

Ariel

Yes, we expected to get announcements with the company’s Q1 2024 earnings call, and we’re still in shock about how we’ll literally be watching Moana 2 in theaters at the end of the year. Then there were the updates about several BIG sequels. Well now, we might have some kind of Little Mermaid update — say what?

Jodi Benson, the voice of the Ariel in Disney’s 1989 animated The Little Mermaid just teased that she’s working on a NEW “surprise” project in a post on social media that also suggests the project has something to do with Ariel. It looks like she’s in a studio recording some Ariel voice work, but for what?

Well, we’re not sure, but the only thing we could think of is that she’s doing something for the brand new Little Mermaid show coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure is a fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the animated movie. The show will be replacing the previous show The Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

However, we’re still a little confused if that’s the case because these types of shows in Disney World usually include Cast Members who do their own acting and singing, so why would they need Benson’s voice? Maybe it’s for a special introduction to the show — or something else that’s being incorporated into it? Only time will tell what the surprise is!

We won’t know anything until more details are released, but we’ll share those with you as soon as we have them, so check back with AllEars again soon!
