Stores
in the WDW Area
Stores on
this page are divided into three areas: Kissimmee, Orange Blossom Trail/John
Young Pkwy, and Crossroads. Most store websites have a store locator function
complete with maps. The front desk at your resort can also help you with
directions if needed. To get around the Orlando area, I have always used
the Streetwise Orlando laminated map (ISBN 1886705402) which can be found
in most bookstores.
State of Florida Liquor Laws: Beer and wine are sold in grocery stores in Florida. Hard liquor is sold in liquor stores. There is a liquor store adjacent to the Albertson's on Orange Blossom Trail and to the Publix on Town Center Blvd.
Orange Blossom Trail/John Young Parkway Area

Located just south of 417 at exit 11. NOTE: you may need 50 cents exact change to get back on 417 @ Orange Blossom Trail.
Brannon writes (9/03): "Just wanted to let you know that you do not need exact change to get on 417 when you leave Super Target as long as you are heading south (to Disney). You will need exact change if you are heading north (airport). Since there is a $1 toll plaza a mile south from Orange blossom interchange they do not charge anything."

* From the airport take the Greeneway (417) to exit 14. Go south to Osceola Parkway. Turn right on Osceola Parkway. Wal-Mart is on the left. If going to WDW directly after Wal-Mart, you can take Osceola Parkway west all the way to WDW property.
Guest Comment: from Meli E 2/04 -- We've been to both the WalMart on 192 and this one. The one on 192 is always busy, and it seems like the staff can't keep up with the customers (i.e. not sparkly clean, constant re-stocking, with flats and cases of products in the aisles, messy displays). I wouldn't be surprised if it IS the busiest one in the world. The one on Osceola is much quieter and cleaner, and is NOT geared to tourists. You will NOT find the selection of souvenirs as you will on 192, but if you're looking for groceries and basic sundries, it makes for a much nicer (and faster) shopping experience.
Crossroads Area
Crossroads is a shopping plaza located at SR 535 and Hotel Plaza Blvd in Lake Buena Vista. The area includes shops and restaurants (Pizzeria Uno, Perkins, Taco Bell plus others).

Rumor
has it that this is the busiest Wal-Mart in the world (and I don't
mean Walt Disney World). I visited off-season and didn't find it crowded
at all but I've heard from more than one source that in season there
can be long waits in line. The busiest times are between 2:00 and
11:00 PM. The least busy times are in the morning.
