Why Disney’s Hollywood Studios Is Going to Be PACKED on a Random Day in June

Are you heading to Disney World this summer?

Hey, Mickey!

Summer is an incredibly popular time to visit Disney World, considering many people have time off from school or work. We typically see crowd levels start to rise in May and stay strong until August. However, this year there might be one unusually crowded day in June.

For several days now, Disney Park Pass availability has been sold out for ticket holders and hotel guests for June 5th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios specifically. At this time, there are still reservations available for Annual Passholders at Hollywood Studios that day.

This seems a bit out of left field, as Disney hasn’t announced any particular special offering for that day. However, we think we know what’s going on here. On June 5th, Hollywood Studios will be closing early at 5:30PM for the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference Orlando. The group will have the park for its private event from 7:30PM to 11:30PM.

It’s likely that in addition to the event that evening, many of the conference attendees have tickets for the park that day and have made reservations for Hollywood Studios. We’ll be interested to see how crowded the parks are on that Wednesday.

But if you plan to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer, you’ll find an exciting new change — a new meet and greet! Joy from Inside Out will be coming to Pixar Plaza on June 10th. Currently, that area of the park is home to meet and greets with characters from Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles.
