Epcot International Food and Wine Festival - September 26 - November 9

Magic Kingdom

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - will be held October 2, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 16, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, and 31. Tickets go on sale May 1. The party that was scheduled for October 3rd has been cancelled. Disney is calling guests who purchased tickets to let them know about the cancellation. The October 31 party is SOLD OUT.

NFFC, The Club For Disneyana Enthusiasts Orlando Chapter meeting October 25. Each meeting has a special speaker, live auction and more. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Quality Inn and Suites, Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando. For more information, call the Club Phone Line: 407-ASK ARLO (407-275-2756).

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom is launching a new Speaker Series just for Passholders beginning 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 18, at Conservation Station. The program is designed to help explain how the Disney Animal Programs and Environmental Initiatives team is working to save wildlife and wild places in our community and around the world. The first talk in the series, called "The Year of the Frog," will be given by Dr. Jackie Ogden, Vice President of Animal Programs; Allyson Atkins, Curator of Animal Programs Education; and Andy Daneault, Curator of Behavioral Husbandry.

Port Orleans Riverside

Campfire on de' Bayou, a special storytime and sing-along around a fire held seasonally behind Port Orleans Riverside's Ol' Man Island Fishin' Hole, will start up again October 31, 2008, and run through March 2009. The program is only offered on Sunday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. S'more kits are sold for $7.00 (tax included). No reservations are necessary.

Super Soap Weekend - The 13th annual ABC Super Soap Weekend presented by Colgate Total will be held in Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park November 15-16, 2008. Stars from the ABC Daytime dramas "All My Children," "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital" will participate in meet-and-greet autograph and photo sessions, celebrity motorcades, star conversations, interactive games and more.

Disney has announced that this year's Super Soap Weekend at Disney's Hollywood Studios will mark the last time this event will be held in Orlando. ABC's Daytime Division will instead send its soap opera stars on a 2009 Soap Nation Tour, a collection of nationwide events designed to interact with fans on a year-round basis offering greater access to stars in more cities, more often. The final Walt Disney World weekend will be dedicated to the fans with special retrospectives and exclusive productions. Cameron Mathison headlines the event, joined by perennial fan favorites like Thorsten Kaye, Erika Slezak and Jason Thompson.

Disney's Wide World of Sports

The Inaugural 2009 Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend will be held March 6-8, 2009. The Disney Princesses are the inspiration for the weekend's events, designed for women of all ages, focusing on the attributes every princess possesses: commitment, courage, determination, fantasy, perseverance, and strength. The weekend includes: Disney's Fit for a Princess Expo, a Family 5K, Kids' Races and the Disney's Princess Half Marathon. Entry fee for the half marathon is $120, and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Race day registration is not available. Two-Person Team Entries for Mother/Daughter; Sister/Sister; Open Division are $10 team fee plus the cost of each individual registration. Half Marathon finishers will receive a special Princess Tiara medal. The half marathon will follow a new course, including the Richard Petty Speedway, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. Entry fee for Disney's Princess Family 5K is $40; for the Kids' Races is $10. Registration opened yesterday, May 5. More information is available at disneysports.com under "Headline Events."
