Black History Month-- Observe Black History Month throughout the month of February with special experiences at the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot. From historical displays and intriguing artifacts to book signings by Celebrity Chef G. Garvin and best-selling author Terry McMillan, guests can take a stroll through the pages of America's history and learn about the influence of African-American culture.

Princess Half Marathon Weekend - February 18-21. Here's your chance to join the Disney Princesses in a "dream come true" weekend of majestic runs in the most magical place on earth. It's all happening during the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and girls and women of all ages are invited to join the royal celebration! There'll be special magical course surprises, special Princess events, and a fun-filled party after the event to celebrate your run. Plus you'll take home an exclusive Finisher Medal celebrating Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Epcot Flower and Garden Festival -- March 2 – May 30, 2016. To celebrate its 23rd year, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will expand to 90 days and run from March 2-May 30, 2016, at Walt Disney World Resort. The popular spring festival previously ran for 75 days. Fresh farm market flavors at the festival’s Outdoor Kitchens, new Disney character topiaries, interactive play gardens and live rockin’ music will shower spring surprises on park guests.

Garden Rocks Concert Series will run throughout the Flower and Garden Festival. The tentative schedule of performers (subject to change) is:

-- March 4-6 The Orchestra starring former members of ELO - "Evil Woman"
-- March 11-13 - Starship starring Mickey Thomas - "We Built This City"
-- March 18-20 - Little River Band - "Reminiscing"
-- March 25-27 - Village People - "Y.M.C.A."
-- April 1-3 - Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone - "I'm Henry the VIII, I Am"
-- April 8-10 - The Guess Who - "American Woman"
-- April 15-17 - Blood Sweat and Tears featuring Bo Bice - "Spinning Wheel" NEW!
-- April 22-24 - Brian Howe, former lead singer of Bad Company - "Can't Get Enough" NEW!

Ridley Pearson, author of the popular "Kingdom Keepers" book series, will be at Walt Disney World on March 25 - 26 to celebrate the release of his newest book, Kingdom Keepers: The Return, Book 2: Legacy of Secrets. He will be available to sign copies of his books both days as follows: March 25 at the Art of Disney, Disney Springs Marketplace from 4 to 6 p.m., and March 26 at Mouse Gear in Epcot from 10a.m.-1p.m. Wristbands will be distributed to guests at store opening on the day of the signing, with each purchase of a book by Ridley Pearson. A wristband from the appearance location is required to meet Ridley Pearson and allows the guest to get two books signed. A limited number of wristbands will be available the day of the signing. Once the wristbands have been distributed, the line to meet Ridley Pearson will close.

The "Star Wars Half Marathon -- The Dark Side" enters the galaxy April 14-17, 2016, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and pays homage to the dark side forces of the Star Wars universe. This race follows the debut of the popular Star Wars-themed race at Disneyland Resort, which will return in January as the "Star Wars Half Marathon the Light Side." The new race weekend will include kids' races, a 5K and a 10K in addition to the half marathon, plus a variety of Star Wars experiences, medals, events and merchandise inspired by a galaxy far, far away. Among its many features will be a unique 13.1-mile course that propels runners through Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios and finishes at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. There will also be a Star Wars Dark Side Challenge -- running the 10K and the half marathon on consecutive days that offers each finisher a Death Star-themed medal. Jedi and Sith Lords who dare to experience both Star Wars races will have the chance to take on the Kessel Run Challenge -- completing the Star Wars half marathon missions on both coasts. Kessel Run Challenge runners can earn a commemorative "Coast to Coast'' medal inspired by the Millennium Falcon starship. Read more at www.runDisney.com.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

May 8-12, 2016 -- Britain's Prince Harry is bringing the Invictus Games, an event that features wounded servicemen and women from around the world competing in a variety of sports events, to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The inaugural Invictus Games, held in London in 2014, drew more than 400 athletes from 13 countries -- plus some 65,000 spectators. The Invictus Games at Disney next year is expected to involve a similar number of athletes from up to 14 nations competing in 10 sports -- archery, cycling, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and field, triathlon, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis. The three-park nighttime event, Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, will feature Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K and runDisney Kids Races, offering something special for runners of all ages. Participants can expect on-course Disney entertainment. To top off the evening, runners are invited to the exclusive Finish Line Party at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon will take place Nov. 6 – 7.
