If you regularly keep up with all the latest Walt Disney Company news, then you’re probably familiar with the talks of park expansions.
Disney has shared that throughout the decade, they plan to invest $60 billion on theme park expansions as well as Disney Cruise Line. Disney has shared that Disneyland California could be expanded by up to 50 percent, there are talks of re-themes at Disney World, and now we have a hint at a NEW attraction coming to Shanghai Disneyland!
Shanghai Disney Resort shared that they are in the preliminary planning stages of new construction. They shared that “initial preparation work for construction” has begun in the area adjacent to Zootopia Land, which opened in 2023.
We don’t have many details right now outside of the fact that construction has started, and the construction is not for an expansion of Zootopia land. This will be themed to something else entirely!
Disney said, “The project work is at the initial planning stage and resort shareholders and management look forward to providing more updates as work progresses in the future.”
They shared that the goal is to make Shanghai Disneyland a multi-day experience “for guests near and far.”

I was hoping that there going to be an expansion at Orlando’s Epcot and Magic Kingdom like a Zooptopia Land at either including Animal Kingdom. Epcot needs mores themed rides in the World Showcase also.
