Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Disney Springs will host a sushi-making class for kids on June 25, from noon to 2 p.m. Kids will learn how to make an array of sushi, including hand rolls, nigiri and maki rolls, and will learn how to properly prepare and season sushi rice, healthy eating habits, and basic cleanliness and food safety skills. Flying Fish has announced its new chef, Tim Majoras! If his name sounds familiar, Chef Tim previously worked at the Flying Fish Cafe. Opening is set for late summer for Flying Fish restaurant at Disney's Boardwalk. Diners will be welcomed to a sophisticated, interior that still pays homage to the golden era of seaside boardwalks. Next door, the new AbracadaBar lounge opens, taking the spot formerly occupied by the candy and ice cream shop.

Ample Hills Creamery has opened on Disney's BoardWalk, in the space formerly occupied by the ESPN Club's arcade, The Yard. The Brooklyn-based company is known for their creative approach to all things ice cream. This re-imagined take on the turn-of-the-century ice cream parlor is Ample Hills Creamery's first location outside of New York City.

For many years Walt Disney World has offered a popular afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian Resort. Earlier this year the Disney Parks Blog announced a new tea offering: Afternoon Tea at Crescent Solarium, which would be held for a limited time in the Solarium at the Beach Club Resort. It didn't line up with our February dates, but then a new set of dates for April appeared, and Alert Reader Deb Koma was able to book a reservation for five of us for Sunday, April 17. (Future dates offered are May 5-8, June 16-19, August 11-14, and September 1-5.)

Morimoto Asia Street Food, which had a brief test run several months ago, is a walk-up window on the patio of the new Pan-Asian restaurant that offers sushi, donburi rice bowls and bao tacos, along with other snacks. The menu also features popping boba tea and an assortment of Asian-influenced beers and beverages.

Reservations for STK Orlando are now open, with the new upscale steak restaurant is scheduled to debut at The Landing in Disney Springs on May 25. The restaurant, which will feature dishes like Florida Grouper, Chili Rubbed Rack of Lamb, and Seared Tuna, recently named James O'Donnell as executive chef.
