Zac Efron Is Open To Appearing In a 'High School Musical' Sequel

We’re all in this together!

If you sang that in your head, we’re guessing that you’ve also spent some time being obsessed with High School Musical, as well as its two sequels. Now, one of the actors from those movies has come out in favor of appearing in a fourth film in the franchise.

Okay, yes we will admit that we love the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney+, but we still have fond memories of Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, and the whole gang that first won our hearts way back in 2006.

Now, one of High School Musical‘s biggest stars, Zac Efron, has said that he’s open to returning for High School Musical 4. When E! News asked Efron about the possibility of him returning for a sequel, he said, “Having the opportunity in any form to go back and work with that team would be so amazing. Yeah, my heart’s still there. That would be incredible.”

So could Disney bring back the OG team for another sequel? We would love to see what the HSM crew has been up to since they graduated in 2008. Are Troy and Gabriella still together? Did Ryan and Sharpay take the entertainment world by storm? Is Martha out there popping and locking to her heart’s content? We have questions.

Although nothing official has been said about a potential fourth High School Musical movie, we are getting a third season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, so for now, we’ll just have to be content with that.
