T.R. writes:

We did it, we did it.

Suppose you threw a RADP meet..

…and (almost) everyone showed up ! Bugaboo Creek themed restaurant in Albany NY was the site of a well attended RADP meet. T W E N T Y – F O U R radp'ers (+ Small adults :o) filled several tables (connected).

The guest list included:

Michele (TDC Pooh); Laurie and Steve Romanski, Ann, Christine, & Eric Palmer; Karen & Dick Slauson, Donna, Cliff, and Maddy Staffanson, Sheila, Melissa, and Bryan McLaughlin, Rich, Theresa, Stephanie, & Daniel Lasselle, Beth Floro A/B/C/E; Anne, Malcolm, and Ben, and T.R. (TDC Tigger); (and another name unwritten)

Beth received the prize for driving the furthest (3.5 HOURS) a neat Tigger Mug

T.R. was presented a cool Tigger Xmas Stocking holder for being the *alleged* meet organizer (but still insist the RADP meet was not his doing).

Michele (holder of a cool Gold Disney Charge Card) came up from New Jersey (3hrs).

There were many pictures, and Disney *show 'n tell*  books passed around. There were many pictures taken of each other, especially the Great Group Photo in front of the Bugaboo Steakhouse WITH THE MOOSE !

There will be a post to the group once the pictures are scanned and up on the web site. There were also stories exchanged and much socializing; including discussions about WDW, the parks, merchandise, attractions, activities, park visits, etc., and about Barb/gardenia & Kenny Cottrell ;o)

Once we were all done invading Bugaboo, the group went upstairs and stormed the Disney Store where there was browsing, and shopping, and spending, by all. It was a wonderful, memorable day of sharing the whole special RADP group experience.

Cricket Adds:
Yes it was a great time…I was a little bummed that I never got a chance to really sit and chat with some folks since they were WAY down the other end of the table…but that is just what happens when you have such a big group show up!

I was delighted to sit near and chat with Donna and Cliff…Donna is a stay at home Mom like me so we email each others on good and bad days…things like…the kid just dumped Listerine all over her bedroom rug…or…he is having another "No Nap" day….

Cliff helped describe the "sinking sands" at the Y and B Club…sounds interesting…like something you can't really describe till you see it.

Tips for next time…IMHO…I'd suggest those "Hello my name is….." stickers…of course since I gave birth over 4 years ago my short term memory has short circuited so it might just be me. I think it was TR who brought a bunch of Disney souvenier books that were fun to pass around…next time I'll bring our Disney album and encourage others to do the same.

I ordered my annual passes up there at the Disney Store after lunch…I can't wait to get the call to go and retrieve them…I'll let you all know when I'm going and maybe we can bump elbows again!
Cricket aka Anne…wife of Malcolm, mother of Ben…who really needed a nap yesterday but didn't get one till we were driving home at around 4.

Donna Shares…..

Once we were all done invading Bugaboo, the group went upstairs and stormed the Disney Store where there was browsing, and shopping, and spending, by all. It was a wonderful, memorable day of sharing the whole special RADP group experience.

Well, there was some *sale* merchandise at the Disney store – we know summer will come again and Maddy can wear the pooh shorts outfit and the nephew can wear the Hercules flip flops eventually.

And I really wish I had more of a chance to talk to my "gimpy pal" Beth. And the food (at least the portions consumed by me, Cliff and Maddy) was excellent.

And the nice gentleman who took our picture with the moose (on at least 5 different cameras), said "Can I help so you'll have shots of the whole family." Thank God he wasn't hit by a bus.

And if anybody would like some shots (images, not alcohol), we transferred them from the camcorder to the 'puter already so I can send you a jpeg file. Just e-mail me. (Laurie R, this means you, I have one of you and Steve but I don't have your email address)

So, whaddaya say folks, do it again in Feb. or March when the winter blues have really set in?

PS: I'm Donna. He's Cliff. Our last name is a big Swedish mouthful I'd rather keep to ourselves, except in T.R.'s post which is ok too. I'm not Mrs. Cliff, unless he's Mr. Donna, which sounds like a BAD hairdresser. Maddy is Madelyn Anne, or Stinkerbelle as the need arises.

Michele Writes…..
Hi, All Albany Radp'ers and wannabes!! After I received the virtual prize for 1– spending the most money at TDS, and
2 — being the last one to leave the TDS (hence the virtual prize!), one wonderful CM who know about RADP (yea!!!) told me he would stop lurking and actually post when Albany RADP strings started appearing.

So
CM — (sorry, I can picture you clearly, but can't recall your name :–( > } we're looking for your post!!!

Beth Floro adds her thoughts….
"Beth received the prize for driving the furthest   (3.5 HOURS) a neat Tigger Mug" A *very* neat Tigger Mug. It has been sharing my coffee with me for the past two days. But I don't get bouncy pouncy trouncy flouncy and/or fun fun fun fun fun. I barely get my eyes open. (BTW, it was more like "3.5 hours *flooring* it". I cut things just a little tooooo close on this one! "Test Track? We don't need no steenking Test Track!")

"Michele (holder of a cool Gold Disney Charge Card) "
Ooooooh! Jealousy! (But, funny thing – they accepted my plain old – plain old one just fine *g*)

"There were many pictures, and Disney *show 'n tell*  books passed around." You/youse/yinz should have seen T.R.'s pics – wow! I also brought my CanAm RADP gimme cap, just to make everybody jealous. And I wore my giant Minnie Mouse bow headband through the mall and into TDS. The Greeter CM smiled and as she hunted for appropriate words I just said "We belong here" and walked on by. She just kept smiling…

"There were also stories exchanged and much socializing; including discussions about WDW, the parks, merchandise, attractions, activities, park visits, etc., and about Barb/gardenia & Kenny Cottrell" Not too co-incidentally, that was also the topic of a lot of conversation *about* the pictures! 😉 Oh, we talked about other >things too. Karen is a *double* for my friend Eleanor! Dick has very good taste in Dr. Whos. Rich is rich in Beanie Babies. Laurie was *very* polite when she found out my brother's name (she knows him by reputation…). *grin*

"Once we were all done invading Bugaboo, the group went upstairs and stormed the Disney Store where there was browsing, and shopping, and spending, by all." Gimpy Donna and my gimpy self "stormed" rather slowly (and I was feeling *good*! Had a little liquid painkiller with my Chicken Caesar Salad lunch. You should have seen me a few hours *later*, when I was moving >S-L-O-W…)

But I scored an Eeyore-with-antlers Beanie, and that was my mission. I saw it in the catalog bundled with a Santa Pooh, but I don't "do" beanies and I just wanted Eeyore. Got him. (Absolutely adorable, and >$6.)

"It was a wonderful, memorable day of sharing the whole special RADP group experience." My one and only regret is that I didn't get to talk to everybody. I mean *sure* I bored *my* end of the table to tears! I just didn't get the chance to share the wealth with the suckers… ahhh… RADP folks at the other end of the table! Besides, I was sitting next to Michele who was snarfing down DESSERT for LUNCH (Some lame story about having just eaten at Grandma's. Yeah, sure.) I had to keep averting mine eyes…

Just that everybody has beautiful/handsome, well-behaved kidlets. Of course! (Note that I didn't bring mine?)

After we split, I spent the rest of the day "malling" it. I was in the Warner Bros. store (can I say that here?) and noticed their "wall of TV screens" was showing a take-off on The Lion King. (Wakko or Yakko as Rafiki holds up the newborn "Tiger King" and accidentally drops him over the cliff!) I said "Wow, I can't believe they can get away with THAT!" and without even turning around to look at the screens, the woman behind the counter said "Yep, I know what you mean – that was my thought the first time I saw it." Yoo-hoo! Disney Legal Dept.!

Had fun, spent money – what more could a girl want?
I'm still winded, but catching up. I'd really like to gab e-mail with anybody who was there (especially the folks I didn't get to bore… uhhh… talk to very much).
