Disney’s Night of Joy ESPN Wide World of Sports

UPDATEMAY 7, 2018: An article in the Orlando Sentinel last week reported that Night of Joy, the annual Christian music event held at Walt Disney World in September, has been discontinued. The event is not expected to return, however, Christian music artists MercyMe and Tauren Wells will perform as part of the Eat to the Beat concert series during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival this year.

WHAT IS IT? Night of Joy
is a two-night, ticketed event that features contemporary Christian music held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

WHEN IS IT? The 35th annual Night of Joy event will be held September 8 and 9, 2017.

WHO IS PERFORMING? Matthew West will act as host for the two-night event this year. Entertainment scheduled (subject to change):

— Friday, Sept. 8: MercyMe, TobyMac, Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey, Matt Maher, Colton Dixon, Rend Collective, Zach Williams.

— Saturday, Sept. 9: Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, Kirk Franklin, Jordan Feliz, Crowder, Jeremy Camp, Tye Tribbett.

Tickets went on sale in early June.

Some events that were part of Fields of Joy last year have been moved into the J Center as part of Fan Fest, which includes appearances by some of your favorite Night of Joy artists, Disney character meet-and-greets, video games and sporting activities.

HOW MUCH IS IT?

There is a new ticketing structure for this event this year.

Event guests will be able to buy a concert-only OR a concert-plus-theme-park combination ticket for either evening – or even a two-night concert ticket.

  • Single-night concert-only tickets will be $45 plus tax in advance.
  • Two-night concert-only tickets will be $69 plus tax in advance.
  • Add-on a one-day Walt Disney World theme park ticket for $62 plus tax*.

There also will be premium seating packages available for an extra charge; groups of 10 or more will be able to get discounted tickets, as with past events.

Tickets will go on sale in early June.

* Add-on Theme Park Ticket Option is good for use any one day September 8-30, 2017 at any one of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks

**2-Night Concert plus 1-day add-on Theme Park Advanced ticket will also include (1) admission to your choice of Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon for one use September 8-30, 2017. Individuals must purchase by August 8, 2017 to receive water park ticket. Groups must purchase by August 25, 2017 to receive water park ticket.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Resort guests attending Night of Joy will be able to take transportation to ESPN Complex from all four theme parks, as well as the Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Pop Century Resort from 4:30 until 7 p.m. Throughout the event and upon its conclusion, transportation will run from ESPN Complex to all Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Guests attending Disney Night of Joy but staying off-property are encouraged to use their personal transportation to travel to and from ESPN Complex.
