The Best Part of EPCOT’s Moana Attraction Unexpectedly CLOSED

To this day, we still find ourselves admiring the beauty of Journey of Water.

Journey of Water

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana opened in EPCOT back in October 2023. It is a walk-through attraction where you can explore the water cycle and take part in a bunch of interactive elements. While this is a fairly new attraction, we noticed an unexpected closure while exploring it today!

We were enjoying our time inside Journey of Water, and then we ran into the shrubs. If you don’t know, Disney often puts up rollable shrub planters in front of areas where they need to ensure guests don’t enter. They often use these to block areas that are under construction or undergoing maintenance. These shrubs were inside Journey of Water, blocking off one of the interactive elements.

Oh no, the shrubs have arrived.

Currently, the area towards the end of the attraction is blocked off. It is the area where you can team up with others to make a big wave. It is one of our favorite parts and we always feel so satisfied when we can get a big group together to create a huge wave! We don’t know exactly why this area is blocked off, and for how long it will be closed, but we will keep you updated as we know more.

Ocean Effect

Luckily, there is still plenty to explore inside Journey of Water! You can grow streams of water with your hand, play a water harp, and more, so it is definitely still worth a walk-through.
