I Go To Disney World Everyday. Here’s Why I Avoid Magic Kingdom.

Let’s talk about why I avoid the most popular Disney park!

I love you, Magic!

Disney World is my favorite place in the world thanks to new and exciting things like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, new ride updates, and major changes coming to Animal Kingdom! I’m lucky enough to go almost every day for my job, but there is one park I like to avoid when I can.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but lately I found myself avoiding Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom is Walt Disney World’s original park, home of the iconic Cinderella Castle, and used to be my favorite park.

The reasons I’ve been avoiding it? Well the first is just getting into the park! If you didn’t know, you can’t just park at Magic Kingdom. Nope! The Ticket and Transportation Center serves as Magic Kingdom’s parking lot even though it’s a mile and a half from the actual park.

Magic Kingdom Monorail

The TTC is where you’ll find the monorail and the ferry boats that will take you to see that beautiful castle, but I won’t lie that it’s a bit of a hassle. This spot tends to get crowded and the lines get LONG especially if you’re trying to get into the park around opening.

Crowds!

To help avoid a more crowded monorail car, we tend to take the ferry boat, but this can take up more time than the monorail itself. If you’re traveling into Magic Kingdom, I like to recommend 30 minutes to an hour to get from parking to the gates of the park depending on the time of year you’re there.

I love being able to avoid the TTC and sadly, that means avoiding Magic Kingdom too. However, that’s not the only reason I find myself heading to the other parks. The second reason? This is easily the most crowded park!

Fantasyland crowds

It’s no secret that Magic Kingdom is the most crowded park, so it’s not surprise that I find myself avoiding it because of crowds. I truly can’t believe I’m saying this considering how much I love this park at its core. Spring Break season just recently wrapped up, so that will definitely help the crowds for a bit until summer rolls around.
