Looks like Disney World is experiencing a bit of a “no bones” morning. Ok, so maybe there are no literal bones involved but things are getting off to a bit of a rough start.
Sometimes things at Disney World don’t always start off on the right foot in the mornings. But that doesn’t mean Disney World is without its fair share of problems they experience throughout the day, too. It’s been a bit since we last reported significant issues with the Monorails but this morning sent a few folks on a ride they won’t forget!
One of our reporters experienced a wild ride this morning while boarding the monorail at the TTC. The Transportation and Ticket Center is the first destination you come to after parking inside the Magic Kingdom parking lot. This station normally allows you to choose your mode of transportation to either Magic Kingdom, the hotels that are found along the monorail track, or EPCOT.
The Monorail is a popular option over the ferryboat, especially on days when the weather can dip in temperature a bit. Although the Monorail train our reporter boarded wasn’t experiencing problems, their Monorail had to reverse (yes, go backward) on the track back to the TTC after departing. This left them going in the same direction as the Monorail running parallel to it which normally operates in the opposite direction of the express monorail they were on. It was a neat experience to see Monorails on both tracks going in the same direction!
That wasn’t all that was weird this morning, though! Several of the rides and attractions in the Disney World parks including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad…
…and Slinky Dog Dash experienced temporary closures in the early park opening hours. One of our reporters even said they were told by a Cast Member that waiting for the ride wasn’t a great use of their time right then and were advised to check back to ride it later in the day.
When rides close it forces the folks who were hoping to hop in line for these attractions to go ride something else in the meantime and can drive up the wait times for other popular attractions as was the case this morning, too. We’re not certain yet how long these rides will be down or if the Monorail could see further issues this morning but for the most part, those seem to have been resolved by taking the problematic train out of service.
It’s also important to note that all four parks are sold out for Annual Passholders today and Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT are sold out for other guests.

We were at Epcot and Hollywood Studios today, and thr crowds were like nothing we’ve ever seen. Even with our DAS pass and Genie+, the lines were incredibly long. Standby for Tower of Terror was 3.5 hours at one point. Lightning Lane resulted in us waiting 45 min for some attractions.
