Disney Guests Trying to Resell New Popcorn Buckets for Hugely Inflated Prices

Today is the first day of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and one of the most coveted merchandise items from the festival this year is the new Figment Popcorn Bucket!

The line for the popcorn bucket stretched through the park well before opening, with many fans hoping to acquire one of these adorable souvenirs.

Unfortunately, we’re noticing a lot of reselling activity on eBay. Though only a small handful of people have been able to purchase them thus far (the park opened at 10AM), we’re seeing the popcorn bucket sell for well over $100, with some topping $150:

Later in the morning, we saw that the bidding on one of the popcorn buckets went up to $270 after 55 people placed their bids!

We also noticed…this “Bad Artwork Sketch” of a Figment Popcorn Bucket, with the bid at the time up to $26. Hey, it’s the Festival of the Arts, after all. We do want to point out that this particular listing benefits charity — the listing mentions that 90% of the proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity (they’ll even throw in a bag of microwave popcorn for you to enjoy, because “what is sadder than a popcorn bucket without the popcorn?”).

The popcorn bucket retails for $25, and Disney had announced that there would be a purchase limit of two (2) buckets per guest. The bucket is only available at Pop Eats, and the line for the booth this morning was LONG:

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation over at the Pop Eats booth, as well as all of the other first-day coverage from EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts!
