Major UPDATES on Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Construction

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a fan-favorite Disney World hotel for many reasons.

It is a beautiful hotel that offers great views, a monorail station, and fantastic food (we see you, ‘Ohana). You have direct access to Magic Kingdom via the monorail that you can catch from the second level of the lobby. It has beaches, pools, and pool bars. Seriously, it’s a great hotel. It is considered one of Disney’s deluxe hotels, so it is a little pricier than one like Pop Century. But soon, you’ll be able to use your Disney Vacation Club points to stay in one of the new DVC villas. Speaking of which, we recently visited the resort to take a peek at the construction!

Disney Vacation Club is a membership program that uses points to reserve rooms. You pay for points at a Disney resort, and then you can use those points at any Disney hotel that has DVC rooms. There are hotels where you can use DVC points around the world, but now a new set of villas is being added to the list in Disney World — the Polynesian Village Resort!

We’ve been following along with the construction of the new DVC Villas at the Polynesian. We’ve noticed that the style of the building is a little different from the others at the resort.

Construction is ongoing

They appear to be working in the back near the lake that the resort is on. When we took a closer look, we noticed what seems to be a pool with a zero-depth entrance. It is common for DVC Villas to have their own exclusive pools, so seeing one being built here, is not surprising.

Is that a pool we spot?

There is also an area attached to the building that has an overhang that may be a place to hang out by the pool. We do know that new dining options will be available at the villas, so perhaps a new pool bar is coming!

What will that area be?

We are excited to see the construction moving along over here! The villas are expected to be done later this year and will include new rooms (of course), dining, recreation, and more. DVC rooms typically offer great amenities, so it will be great to have another resort option!
