People HATE On This Disney World Restaurant, But We Think They’re WRONG

Did you know there’s a restaurant in Disney World solely dedicated to our favorite Disney lobster, Sebastian, from The Little Mermaid?

Sebastian’s Bistro

Over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you can grab a reservation at Sebastian’s Bistro. This is a table service restaurant that combines Latin and Caribbean flavors together to create some pretty delicious offerings. But are things as good as they sound on the menu? We headed over to the restaurant so we could try it out together!

Atmosphere

We love how colorful this restaurant is, and how well it fits in with the Caribbean Beach vibe. The seats inside are an ocean blue color matched with white tables and multi-colored plates and napkins.

However, these colors weren’t overwhelming, and we felt they matched really well with the theme.

So many colors

But what can you get to eat at this restaurant?

Menu

There isn’t too much to choose from on this menu as it is a prix-fixe meal.

But if you’d like to get an alcoholic drink with your meal, there are plenty to choose from in the form of cocktails, specialty Caribbean bums, beer, cider, and hard seltzer. There are also special non-alcoholic options as well.

Drink Menu

You’ll also receive a wine menu.

Enough talking, let’s get to eating!

Food

First up was our appetizers — a plate of rolls and a fresh salad.

Rolls and Salad

The rolls were incredible! They’re Soft Parker house style rolls that are lightly crisped at the tops and pillowy soft.

Delicious!

The guava dip that comes with them is amazing. Our taste buds wanted it to be sorbet because it’s got that consistency, but it’s actually flavored butter. And we loved it!

Guava Dip

These rolls also come with Caramelized onions. We thought these tasted really great, and it gives you a bit of a savory taste to go with the sweetness of the roll.

Caramelized Onions

To drink, we tried two different options — the Flounder Colada and Caribbean Smuggler.

Flounder Colada and Caribbean Smuggler

The Flounder Colada is a nonalcoholic drink that’s similar to a piña colada with a melted ice cream taste. It’s delicious, and we think it makes a nice mocktail option for kids!

Flounder Colada

The Caribbean Smuggler, on the other hand, is an alcoholic drink. It’s nice and rummy, smooth, and while it plays a long game with your taste buds, it also has a fruity pineapple flavor to it that we adored.

Caribbean Smuggler

We also really enjoyed the salad! It was crunchy and sweet with the pumpkin seeds (that honestly taste like sunflower seeds), and the mandarin orange slices are juicy and pair perfectly. It’s a great, light way to get the meal started.

Salad

We also grabbed the Crab and Fish Optional addition, and we’re so glad we did. These are nice and crunchy and seared on the side to make them almost kinda charred. This makes them delicious but crunchy on the inside of the cake, and they fall apart super easily when you stick your fork into it.

Crab and Fish Optional

But now it’s time for the main course — the entrees!

Entrees

The first entree consisted of Cilantro Rice, Soup, and Broccoli.

Looking good!

If you like beef stew, you’ll like this soup! We think it tastes very similar with all the veggies, but minus the actual beef. It definitely has a celery taste to it, so be warned, but overall, it’s delicious.

Soup

The Cilantro Rice has a herbaceous taste to it and is tad sticky, but the kidney beans have a nice burst to them when you bite into them, which made it a good texture combination.

Rice

And this broccoli — wow. They have a nice, garlicky, buttery flavor to them and are soft at the top but the stalks were were nice and crunchy. They weren’t under cooked, which was a relief. While they’re not anything life-changing, they’re pretty darn good!

Vegetables

Our other entree consisted of Mojo Pork, Chicken, Steak, and Fish, along with a Vera Cruze sauce (which reminded us of chutney — it’s sweet, but you can taste the veggies in it). The Mojo Pork was moist and surprising acidic in  flavor. It was quite vinegary, which made it our least favorite thing in the meal, but we think it’s a nice complementary option for those who enjoy those flavors.

Mojo Pork (sitting next to Steak)

As for the Steak right next to it, this was our favorite thing on the menu! It’s typically cooked medium rare to medium and is absolutely packed with flavor.

A bite of steak!

The Chicken was tossed in some great buttery spices that really added some great flavor, but unfortunately the inside was a bit dry in our opinion.

Chicken

The Fish on the plate was enjoyable, but wasn’t super flavorful. It was a tad rubbery (as fish should be, admittedly), but we did like the sauce on top.

Fish

And of course, we couldn’t finish our meal without dessert! This is the Our Celebrated House-made Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding and it was just as delicious as it looks. You can also find this dessert over at the Banana Cabana Pool Bar & Lounge and you’ll find a very similar version over at ‘Ohana and Kona Cafe.

Delicious Bread Pudding!

It does get messy very quick though, so be prepared!

We told you it gets messy!

Overall, we thought this was a really solid meal, especially for a prix-fixe menu! If you’re a fan of seafood and are looking to try somewhere a little off the beaten path, grab yourself a reservation for $38 per adult and $20 per child, plus tax and gratuity.

Emma loves the Bread Pudding!

  1. We loved Sebastian’s when we went the week before Christmas. However the wait for food to be served was extraordinarily long. For a pre fixed menu and working in the food and beverage business at five diamond resorts. Even for a resort not rated this level should have no problem pumping out meals much more quickly.

With that said. Food is packed with flavor and so good. Will try again when we return in case the long wait was a fluke.
