Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a great place to stay during your Disney World Vacation!
Its close proximity to EPCOT makes it perfect for walking to the park first thing in the morning. It has several great amenities, and it’s getting several brand-new dining locations! It is also a Disney Vacation Club resort, meaning there are certain sections of the hotel dedicated to members (or renters) choosing to use points. Unfortunately, the BoardWalk Inn has been under construction for quite some time, and now we have an update.
The BoardWalk Inn has been dealing with construction for a while. Several areas, like the lobby, have been completed. But several other spots are still being worked on. This includes the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers and the Blue Ribbon Corn Dog Stand.
All of these locations can add to the level of noise pollution around the resort which may be off-putting for some guests. And some visitors may find themselves completely moved from the room that they booked.
We confirmed with a Cast Member at the BoardWalk Inn that DVC guests may get notified that the villa they booked is not ready for their stay due to the refurbishment lasting longer than expected. If this happens, the group could be moved to a different room other than the one they booked.
As of now, the Cast Member shared that all of the villas should be open by the middle of March. However, it is possible that reservations made for that timeline could run the possibility of being canceled as well if the renovation is further delayed.
Disney construction can hinder your vacation plans, so it’s always important to be flexible and realize that projects can and do get delayed. The DVC Villas, Cake Bake Shop, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Stand are all great examples of this. The BoardWalk is not the only Disney hotel under construction — keep that in mind when you’re making reservations.
