I’ve Stayed in Every Hotel in Disney World. These Are the Best and Worst Beds.

I review Disney World hotels for work, and that means I’ve stayed in all 21 of them.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

That’s a lot of hotel beds… And that’s not even counting the non-Disney hotels in Disney World, the Disneyland hotels, and the Disney cruise ships that I’ve visited. So with all this bed science under my belt, I’ve finally come up with the best and worst Disney hotel beds. Buckle up, this is the need-to-know stuff.

If you want to see a more in depth judgement of one of my favorite Disney World beds, check out my full tour of the Four Seasons Resort Orlando! Watch the video here!

But, let’s dive in!

The Best Disney Beds

Now, most Disney beds are made equal. There’s a difference in comfort from value to deluxe, as you might expect, and most of that difference comes from bedding. But there are a few beds that stand (lay?) well above the rest!

Deluxe Resort King Beds

First of all, the deluxe resort king beds are absolutely fantastic. Now, the king bed rooms don’t fit for every scenario but when you can book one, you are in for a good nights sleep.

King bedroom

With the perfect mix of soft and firm and enough space to get comfy however you like, these beds are the peak of standard Disney World hotel beds. The queens in deluxes get an honorable mention here, too, for being outfitted with just as nice bedding!

Four Seasons Orlando Beds

Stepping away from Disney-owned hotels, lets head down the road to Four Seasons Resort Orlando, located on Disney World property near Magic Kingdom. If you’re going to book a hotel on beds alone…this is the one.

Fuor Seasons Bed

Four Seasons beds are famous for being incredibly comfortable, and these beds have to be my favorite I’ve ever slept in. They are so good that Four Seasons sends out marketing emails where you can buy the same bedding and materials they use in their hotel rooms. Yeah.

Disneyland Hotel Beds

I know we’re talking Disney World here but I want to bring up a few Disney beds that really wowed me from elsewhere as well.

That’s all!

I dream about the Disneyland Hotel beds, and Grand Californian made for a great night’s sleep too.

Disney Cruise Line Beds

And at sea you will find some incredible beds too. Now, this is only true of the main bed in a Disney Cruise cabin. The sofa beds and bunks are fine, but the real stellar sleep is the queen bed.

Disney Wish Room

I recently took a 7-night cruise and found it so hard to leave the bed every morning — even with a day of fun cruising ahead of me.

The Worst Disney Beds

Now for the beds to avoid at all costs (or stick your kids in!).

Sofa Beds

First up, we have sofa beds. Even the newer sofa beds in Disney hotel rooms are not particularly comfy. The mattresses are thin and they don’t make for a lot of space.

Pull out couch

The true pull-out sofa beds are the absolute worse. Think cardboard mattresses, no support, and gaps between the bed and the couch that make for a lot of discomfort.

Older Beds

This is a bit trickier, but I definitely recommend opting for hotels that have seen a more recent refurbishment for a comfier bed — even if it’s just a soft goods (sheets, etc.) refresh!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Grand Floridian recently saw a refresh, but I stayed just before and found that my bed felt a little worse for wear.

Single Pull Down Beds

With many of the recent hotel rooms, Disney has turned to murphy and pull-down beds to help make use of space. The queen murphy beds are comfortable and often very cute!

The other pull-down bed in the living room.

But the single pull-down beds are very small. If a room has one of these beds, it’s best saved for a kiddo.

And there you have it! The dream beds and the beds to avoid on your next Disney World trip. Keep an eye on AllEars for more Disney tips!

  1. Quincy did not mention the murphy full sized beds featured at the new Little Mermaid rooms at Carribean Beach and the murphy beds at some of the all stars. They were mentioned on previous videos. I think the ranking was deluxe beds, murphy beds, and last pull out couch.
