New Year's Eve 2011 at WDW

THEME PARKS

Epcot -- Epcot's "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth" features a salute to the new year at 7 p.m. and 11:42 p.m. The park's December 31 operating hours are 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Disney's Hollywood Studios features "Fantasmic!" at 6:30 and 8 p.m., with the popular "Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!" fireworks display at midnight. There will be a DJ at the Sorcerer's Hat from midnight until 3 a.m. Park hours: 8 a.m.-3 a.m.

Magic Kingdom will host the "Wishes" nighttime spectacular with a holiday overlay at 8:30 p.m. and "Fantasy in the Sky" at 11:50 p.m. Park Hours: 8 a.m.-2 a.m.

Disney's Animal Kingdom: No fireworks. "Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade" at 3:45 p.m.; Park Hours: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

DINING

Special New Year's Eve Dining: Many Walt Disney World restaurants will feature special menus during the holidays, and for New Year's Eve in particular. Here are several special New Year's Eve dining experiences that we have details on so far. More will be added as they become available. (Call 1-407-WDW-DINE for details or to make reservations, unless otherwise noted.)

-- At Narcoossee's restaurant (Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa) there will be a four-course dining experience for $149, plus DJ, balloon artist and special fireworks viewing at 8:30 and 11:51.

-- At Bistro de Paris at the France Pavilion at Epcot: The menu includes truffle soup or lobster salad; a choice of snapper with Champagne sauce, coquilles St. Jacques (scallops), beef filet or stuffed quail; and a beautiful French dessert. Each course is paired with wine for an additional $75 per person. You'll need park admission. The four-course dinner is $175, with seating times at 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. To book, call Bistro manager Philippe Girard at 407-284-0202.

-- World Showplace is hosting Fantasia 2011, a tribute to Walt Disney's exceptional fusion of sight and sound. Inspired by memorable scenes from Disney's classic animated feature films, "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000," this delightful evening is fun for the whole family. The menu includes salads, pulled pork, lobster and seafood pie, thyme-roasted chicken, braised beef, a pasta station and lots of gooey desserts. For kids, there's fried chicken, pasta, mac 'n cheese and cupcakes for decorating. Reservations are available starting at 4:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., Cost is $73.95, $47.54 ages 3 to 11 (pay when you book). Park admission required.

AT THE RESORTS

-- New Year's Eve at Atlantic Dance Hall (BoardWalk Resort): Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's Boardwalk Resort offers a special-ticket New Year's Eve party from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. with video DJ Tony Zapulla.

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

DISNEYQUEST!

Tickets went on sale November 17 for a special New Year's Eve event to be held at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park on December 31, 2011 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Enjoy unlimited access to DisneyQuest games and attractions, family fun, food and a DJ dance party in the atrium -- complete with party hats, noisemakers and confetti blast at midnight. Advance-purchase tickets are $42.25 plus tax (for ages 3 and up). Tickets are $51.64 plus tax (for ages 3 and up) on the day of the event. LA NOUBA NEW YEAR'S EVE!

La Nouba, by Cirque du Soleil, at Downtown Disney West Side will perform its annual special New Year's shows on December 31, 2011, at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. All guests attending the December 31 performances will receive a limited-edition Walt Disney World/Cirque trading pin.
