The One EPCOT Ride Fans Say They’ll Never Ride Again.

We go to Disney World every day. We do that so we can keep tabs on all the latest happenings inside the parks.

Spaceship Earth

It doesn’t bother us at all to go to the Most Magical Place on Earth since it’s basically our favorite place on Earth, but we know that Disney World is likely your favorite place to visit as well. That’s why we enjoy getting to hear your take on the many different experiences there. We recently asked our readers on Facebook which ride they avoid in EPCOT, and the answers were nearly unanimous.

Within the past decade or so and through the massive transformation it has had, EPCOT now has some very popular rides and attractions. Frozen Ever After got the IP ball rolling, and now we have fun rides like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Frozen Ever After

Of course, there have been rides in this park far longer than Frozen Ever After. For example, Test Track, Living with the Land, and Spaceship Earth have all been around for quite some time.

Living with the Land

But out of all the popular rides in EPCOT, which one do Disney fans say they will never ride again? If you’re thinking of Mission: SPACE, you would be… CORRECT!

Mission: SPACE

Ride to space; experience space travel like an astronaut. Two versions - Green/Earth (mild) and Orange/Mars (intense) 5 minutes +preshow

Mission: SPACE

Mission: SPACE opened in 2003 (so it’s been around for a while), and is located in World Discovery. It takes you on a simulated mission into space to land on Mars. Similar to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Hollywood Studios, each person in the “space shuttle” gets a job such as being the pilot or commander. The concept is really cool, and it certainly makes sense in EPCOT.

Mission: SPACE

So if it sounds so cool, why do people never want to ride it again? Well, due to it being a simulator ride people tend to get very motion-sick on it. The ride gives you the effect of zero gravity and has twists and turns throughout it. It can be very intense. Many of our readers who commented on our Facebook question expressed it’s a “one and done” ride.

Mission: Space

Since this ride is prone to making riders sick, Disney did add an alternate ride option in 2017. During the ride’s refurbishment, a Green side was added which is a less intense side and is a slightly different ride. On that side, you orbit Earth instead of traveling to Mars. So if you want to give it a go but are worried about getting sick, stick to the Green lane NOT the Orange lane.

Green and Orange options

Mission: SPACE is certainly an out-of-this-world experience unlike any other. So if you think you’re stomach can handle it give it a try! It is located right next to Space 220, a newer restaurant that also takes you outside Earth’s atmosphere. Perhaps, visit the restaurant AFTER the ride, though.

You can learn more about Space 220 in the short video below!

  1. Obsolescence to validate it’s removal like GMR ?

Polls say it’s so ! A self-fullfilling prophecy to lessen the hard feelings it’s removal will generate. Or the old stand-by let it fall into disrepair and create a nuisance by creating chaos.

    Old tried and true tactics.

Shooting gallery at MK a new cooling center for disney vacation clubbers, how ironic !

Pecos Bill will be reemmerged as the new tiaannaas restraunt, and thus ending Frontier Land forever.
