Big changes are in the works at The Walt Disney Company!
2024 will bring new movies, new park rides and restaurants, new entertainment, and more! But, that means we have to say goodbye to some of our favorites — and tomorrow is one of those days.
Disney’s “Tale of the Lion King” show is officially shutting its doors after January 7th, 2024.
The show is an adaptation of the original Disney movie, The Lion King, and has been entertaining Disneyland guests with stories, music, and dance since its premiere in 2019. Back in 2019, it was available throughout the summer and was scheduled to end its run in September. It returned in May 2022 before Disney announced it would be closing in early 2024.
As of now, Disney hasn’t announced any new shows coming to the Fantasyland Theatre, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any potential news.

I’ve actually never heard of it. At first I thought you were talking about the lion king show at animal kingdom.
I am deeply disturbed by this! Our first trip this year with our Grands and I have been anticipating this show with them. Sooo disappointed.
I loved every moment t of the show. I saw it on October 13, it was amazing. Please don’t shut down this production, this is a MUST KEEP!
Yes just watched it in December of 2023 entertaining but dated. Glad we got to see it tho.
