8 Ways to Make Your 2024 Disney World Trip Cheaper

Disney World is the most magical place on Earth, but trips there can also be the most expensive!

Cinderella Castle

You’ll find it’s scary how easily you can spend THOUSANDS on your trip. But don’t let that turn you away because there are some key decisions and special deals to take advantage of to save some serious cash. So what are some ways to bring those vacation costs down? Let’s go over them!

Here are 8 ways to make your 2024 trip to Disney World cheaper!

Book Your Trip Well In Advance (and use a Travel Agent)

First things first, to save the most money, you will need to book your trip as far as possible in advance. This will give you the most time to do your research on when the busiest times of the year are and any discounts that you can take advantage of.

Magic Kingdom

Want to make sure you’re getting the best deal on your trip? Nervous about staying up-to-date on all the deals? Stressed about having to plan your trip? You don’t have to do it all alone — using a travel agent could help you save money and take away some of the stress of planning a Disney trip!

We recommend our friends over at MEI-Travel’s Mouse Fan Travel. Why? Their services are totally FREE, they’ve got tons of knowledge about ALL things Disney, and their talented team can really help you plan the trip of your dreams (and answer all of your questions).

Disney Vacation Planner

They stay up-to-date on the latest deals and can help make sure you’re choosing the spot that’s best for you. Plus you won’t be spending any more than what you’d normally spend on your trip.

Visit Disney World during Off-Peak times

Next, in order to make your 2024 trip as cost-friendly as possible, DO NOT visit during major holidays or other big events. Instead, you’ll want to start by looking at the dates on which ticket prices are their LOWEST. These typically fall during Disney’s “slower” periods, when fewer crowds are expected.

Lots of people in Frontierland

We’ve seen that the cheapest days are NOT in the first half of the year. Instead, we’ve seen the cheapest ticket prices in August and September.  Even more importantly, some of these dates have lower ticket prices than those we’re seeing for 2023.

  • Florida Residents can also typically save on Disney tickets (40% on a 4-day ticket and 30% on a 3-day ticket).

Stays at Other Hotels

If you’re looking to save more on your hotel stay specifically, you may want to look at off-property hotels or hotels not owned by Disney.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

These can sometimes offer significant savings, but you’ll need to take a look at resort fees, the cost of travel to Disney World (since you won’t have access to Disney World’s free transportation), and other additional costs that come with staying off-property. Check out our list of the best off-site hotels.

But if you really want to stay on the property and still want to make sure that you’re really getting a great hotel deal, keep an eye out for Disney World hotel or package discounts!
