NEWS: Monorail Stuck in EPCOT

Disney World’s Monorails are a favorite mode of transportation for many Disney World guests.

EPCOT Monorail

Unlike the Skyliner, it doesn’t stop as often for inclement weather (unless it gets quite severe), and it can provide direct routes to both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. However, it looks like one Monorail is having some serious trouble today.

While walking around EPCOT today, we noticed that Monorail Yellow is stopped on the track.

Monorail stopped

And we don’t just mean for a few moments — this Monorail has been stopped for nearly an hour. There’s an issue with the switch beam, which is run by a computer that is currently not working correctly. While Monorail Yellow is stuck on one track, a single train is running back and forth on the other track beam every 15-18 minutes.

It’s been stopped for over half an hour

There are no passengers on board the Monorail, other than the driver, who has been seen waving to guests walking below.

If you were planning to use the Monorail, you can take a Disney bus to your next destination instead, or wait a little longer than normal for the next Monorail.

How long will it sit here?

We hope the Monorail can move soon so guests can use the service to exit the park easier later tonight. Be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news.

  1. I saw that when I was leaving the park today. The buses were pulling right up to the Animal Kingdom Lodge stop and the monorail was stuck halfway around Future World.
