Summer is fast approaching, and if you’re planning a trip for this May, break out that sunblock!
Summer in Disney World is VERY hot and humid, but you can still have a great time hanging out in the parks and experiencing all your favorite attractions. However, these attractions will be unavailable for May, so prepare in advance!
Country Bear Jamboree
In late January, Country Bear Jamboree closed for a lengthy refurbishment that will reimagine the attraction.
The new show will still have our favorite characters (in new outfits) and some of the songs we know and love, along with new ones sung in bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, and rockabilly styles. Overall, the new show will be reminiscent of Nashville-esque Opry shows. We don’t have an opening timeline for this show just yet, but we do know it should be Summer 2024!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Similar to Country Bear Jamboree, we know that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening in Summer 2024, but we don’t have a specific date yet. This ride is taking the place of Splash Mountain in Frontierland (same ride system, just different theming), and we’re SO excited.
This ride will follow Tiana as she prepares a Mardi Gras party for the town. Guests on the ride will be helping her find the final ingredient for the celebration.
We’re spilling 7 secrets about the animatronics coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
For the second year in a row, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has had to go under a lengthy refurbishment to fix some issues within the ride. Like the others, this one is expected to reopen sometime in Summer 2024.
Yes, the coaster also closed in February 2023 for a lengthy refurbishment, reopened, still had major issues, and then closed again in January 2024. Let’s hope this time around the issues are REALLY fixed!
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
This Hollywood Studios show has been closed for years, but we got an announcement in December 2023 that a NEW Little Mermaid show will finally be taking over this space and opening in Fall 2024.
Therefore, we are counting this as a closed attraction since it will be reopening sometime later this year! The new show is also based off The Little Mermaid cartoon and will feature live actors and puppets, just like the original show. They started casting in February, so we know they’re on the move!
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is one of Disney World’s two water parks and will be closed for refurbishment for the entire rest of 2024.
But don’t stress! You can head over to Typhoon Lagoon instead and experience all their fun attractions! Disney World won’t leave you without a water park on those hot summer days.
