6 Dates to AVOID Buying Disney World Lightning Lanes in May 2026

Another month means more fluctuations in Lightning Lane prices for Disney World, and that’s especially true this time around, since May means the start of summer vacation for many kids and families.

That also often means that, despite the summer heat, the crowds in Disney World pick up. If you’re planning a vacation this month and aren’t super keen on waiting hours and hours in line, getting Lightning Lane may be the best option for you and your party. Some days you may have to budget more than others though, as Lightning Lane prices change depending on how busy Disney expects the parks to be. If you’re traveling in May, these are the dates we recommend AVOIDING!

As a reminder, there are three different types of Lightning Lane — Lightning Lane Multi Pass (pay one price and get access to skip most of the lines in the park, but reservations are required and first come, first serve), Lightning Lane Single Pass (pay one price to skip the line at ONE attraction), and Lightning Lane Premier Pass (pay one price to skip every single ride in the park once).

We keep track of all the Lightning Lane prices in each park for every month to help you plan in advance. With that being said, these are the dates you’ll want to AVOID purchasing Lightning Lane in Disney World, due to high prices and, therefore, more intense crowds.
