It Took Us Years to Learn These Disney World Hacks. We’ll Teach Them To You In 5 Minutes.

Everyone likes a good hack, don’t you?

Welcome to Disney World!

If we know anything, it’s that taking a trip to Disney World can be rather exhausting. You’re stressed while making the travel plans, then you have to face all the crowds and the Florida heat, and all the while you’re trying to master those reservations so that you don’t have to only eat Mickey pretzels for every meal. It can be a lot. To that point, we figure it’s high time for us to share some of the Disney World hacks that we use that took us FOREVER to learn so that you can reap all the benefits!

We’re about to dive right in, so get ready to take notes as quickly as you can! These will help transform your next Disney World experience!

Pace Yourself!

One of the biggest mistakes newcomers make is trying to cram everything into one day. Disney World is massive, and there’s no way that you can see it all in one visit.

Magic Kingdom

Don’t feel pressured to do everything in one go. Take your time. Enjoy the experience, and don’t hesitate to skip out on an entire park or an attraction if it’s not your cup of tea.

Skip the Fireworks

While the fireworks at Disney World are truly magical, they’re also INCREDIBLY popular. But here’s the thing: If you’ve seen them once, you’ve seen them a hundred times (take it from us since we go to the park every day).

Fireworks

Instead of wasting your precious time waiting in line for a good spot to watch the fireworks for the third night in a row, you could take advantage of shorter wait times at the popular attractions while everyone else is watching the show.

The Parade Surge is Real!

Sure, the parades at Magic Kingdom are magical, but hold off on trying to jump right into a ride queue after the parade.

Festival of Fantasy Parade

What happens typically is that the moment the parade ends many people end up rushing for all the attractions and end up causing a spike in wait times. Don’t fall for this trap!

The line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

What you’re going to want to do instead is explore other areas of the park, have a nice snack, enjoy the sights and sounds of the park, etc. If you can wait until the crowds disperse, you can avoid those extra-long lines and make the most of your day.

Multitasking Masterclass

This one is a game-changer and we’re quite embarrassed to say how long it took us to learn this. So, here’s what you’re going to do: While you’re waiting for rope drop (park opening), be a multitasking pro!

Main Street Confectionery Mobile Order

Use the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order your lunch ahead of time. Set your pick-up time window for later that morning or afternoon and save yourself some valuable time later. You’re welcome!

Genie+

Now this one could use an entire series of posts to go over all the ins and outs and best practices, but for the sake of keeping things simple, let’s just talk about a basic strategy when it comes to utilizing Genie+ for your group.

Disney’s Genie+

First things first, you’re going to want to go into the beginning of the day having a list of your priorities (the go-tos). As you know, everyone in the group has different ideas of the perfect thing to do, so get this straight before you get to the park.

After that, designate one (1) person for the group to coordinate Genie+. You can call that person the captain, the leader, the boss, whatever you want. Just make sure all the decisions flow through that person. It’s totally fine to have the group split off, just make sure you’ve only got one person calling the shots.

Lastly, be flexible and enjoy yourselves!
