The 10 WORST Magic Kingdom Restaurants According to Yelp

Magic Kingdom is Disney World’s flagship park, and there are TONS of restaurants to try out.

Cinderella Castle

However, some of these restaurants are the opposite of beloved, so you may want to avoid them on your trip. Here are the 10 WORST restaurants in Magic Kingdom according to Yelp and our thoughts based on our experience!

10. Be Our Guest Restaurant

Yes, Be Our Guest is on this list, but it’s at the top! Out of 2,402 reviews, it was ranked a 3.7/5.

One Yelp reviewer said, “From the moment you make your reservation and tell your children you’ll be having dinner in the Beast and Belle’s Castle they will be over the moon. You’ll know it’s going to be expensive at $70 PP ($41 under 10) so for a family of 5 you’ll be over $400 if you order any drinks. But you’ll tell yourself it’s an experience and not just about the food.” So what’s so “not great” about it? Another reviewer said, “It was very basic food and the entertainment was ok. We were disappointed that the Beast was the only one that showed up and he didn’t even go to each and every table.. he just walked around as we clapped for him.”

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Our Thoughts

We agree with these reviewers that talk about how the experience is potentially once-in-a-lifetime for many families. We mean, you’re eating in Beast’s Castle! That’s pretty amazing. However, we agree that the food is lackluster here overall and is not worth the price tag. The dessert has consistently been our favorite, however, which a lot of reviewers also agreed with.

9. The Crystal Palace

Out of 683 reviews, Crystal Palace sits at a 3.6/5.

One Yelp reviewer shared that they, “Visited here for the Winnie the Pooh breakfast and the characters are great, Piglet, Eeyore and Winnie and Tigger. The food is a buffet style breakfast, with all the sides, including egg dishes and bacon and sausage and churro mickey waffles which were ok. However for the price tag of close to $200 for 4, this was not worth it, since the food is just not that good and this will be my last visit to this establishment. It just does not seem like its worth the price for mediocre bad food.”

Crystal Palace

Our Thoughts

While we enjoy some of the food here, we see how the high price tag for a buffet-style meal might steer some away. Buffets in Disney World (and typically in general) are notorious for being lower quality than other meals, but with the bonus that you can have as much as you’d like. If you’re a big fan of the Hundred Acre Woods characters though and you’re willing to eat some less-than-stellar food to do so, then give it a try.

8. Casey’s Corner

Yes, it’s on here! Out of 333 reviews, Casey’s Corner has a score of 3.4/5.

The main complaint here? One reviewer summed it up best by saying, “This is good food but let’s be honest with this it’s nothing gourmet. Solid hotdogs and fries place. Not the worse option in magic kingdom but definitely not the best.”

Casey’s Corner

Our Thoughts

Okay, you already know we love the corn dog nuggets here, but it is not the most unique food you’ll have. However, if you have picky eaters in your group or want something simple, this is one of the best places to go in the park!

7. The Friar’s Nook

Out of 82 Yelp Reviews, Friar’s Nook got 3.4/5 stars.

Reviewers have said things like, “Totally fine food here. I always leave here feeling totally whelmed – not overwhelmed or underwhelmed, just whelmed… this is just another pretty average place in my book. But it’s hearty and filling fare.”

Friar’s Nook

Our Thoughts

We agree with lots of the reviews that praise the amount of food you get here — you do get quite a generous portion. It’s not our favorite snack spot in Magic Kingdom, but it does have some hearty and shareable snacks. Will it be the best thing you eat that day? Probably not.

6. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

Yikes, Yelp is not holding anything back! Out of 414 reviews, it has 3.3/5 stars.

One reviewer summed it up really well by saying, “It wasn’t the greatest meal we had at the park, and it definitely was not the worst. There is plenty of seating, and the AC works well for those hot Disney days. I would come back for a quick bite at ok prices.”

Cosmic Ray’s lines

Our Thoughts

Listen, Cosmic Ray’s is iconic. However, it’s always packed, especially at peak dining times, which means that even with all those tables, it’s hard to find a spot. And again, it’s plain theme park food. There are tons of other interesting and tasty options in the park, but if you’re starving and in a hurry, it’s not a terrible option.

5. The Plaza Restaurant

With 258 reviews, The Plaza Restaurant has 3.3/5 stars.

Why is this? Well one Yelp reviewer said that, “Menu here is small, a few appetizers, sandwiches, chicken or salad. The food was ok, nothing great, especially not for the 150 or more you’ll pay here but still it’s better than others and it’s air conditioned and staff is great. Not sure I’d come back though, fried pickles were ok, Fried chicken sandwich was ok, not great.”

Plaza Restaurant

Our Thoughts

Although the price is higher than some other restaurants on this list, the Plaza Restaurant is a table service restaurant…and it’s one of the cheapest in the park. The menu is pretty basic so it’s not for adventurous eaters, but if you want to sit inside and enjoy a meal with a view of Cinderella Castle, we recommend giving it a try.

4. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Out of 665 reviews, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant lands at a 3.3/5 stars.

More recent reviews of this restaurant say things like, “The food was certainly fine. Nothing absolutely outstanding, but no complaints whatsoever. Service was great. The dining room is large and loud, and we were seated near the kitchen door so I couldn’t characterize it as a relaxing meal, but it was still pleasant enough.” So why is it so low?

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Our Thoughts

For years this was one of the most hated restaurants in Magic Kingdom and thanks to heavy food that wasn’t the greatest tasting, and we agreed! However, the restaurant has recently undergone a whole menu overhaul and things have MASSIVELY improved. Is it going to be the best meal in Magic Kingdom? Probably not, even with the menu improvements, but we encourage guests who’ve never tried it due to bad reviews or past experiences to give it another try.

3. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe

WOW! Yes, Pecos Bill is one of the LOWEST rated restaurants on this list with 3.1/5 stars with 498 reviews.

One reviewer commented, “Food was very bland and was missing the flavor and spices. We had to put salt also to eat it.” To add on, another Yelp reviewer shared, “I’ve been here several times and it’s hit and miss. The food did its job it filled me up but the quality is low, I could’ve made something better at home.”

Pecos Bill

Our Thoughts

Unfortunately, unlike Tony’s Town Square, Pecos Bill has declined over time. This restaurant can be hit or miss, however, we enjoy going there to change it up from the regular theme park burgers or chicken tenders. There used to be a toppings bar and more unique menu items and we want that version of Pecos back!

2. Pinocchio Village Haus

Out of 241 reviews, Pinocchio Village Haus only has a 3/5 rating.

One reviewer said, “I’ve had great experiences here and rough experiences. Mostly based on crowd level I think. But the food is good and not a bad value.” However, another review shared that after Mobile Ordering their food, it was “utter chaos” for people to get their order. People were being handed the wrong orders 10-15 minutes after the app had told them their food was ready.

Pinocchio Village Haus

Our Thoughts

The Pinocchio-themed restaurant is typically a skip for us. Sometimes they’ll have a fun limited-time pizza flavor or dessert, but it’s not usually anything to write home about. If you are craving pizza or have picky eaters with you, you may find yourself here, but we recommend skipping if you have the option.

1. The Diamond Horseshoe

And lastly, with 115 reviews, The Diamond Horseshoe lands with 2.9/5 stars.

However, this one’s a little interesting when it comes to reviews. Prior to 2020, many reviews are very low, with reviewers saying things like “The taste of the food (besides the mashed potatoes) was not that good.” More recent reviews of this restaurant are mostly 4 and 5 stars though, so why is the rating so low?

The Diamond Horseshoe

Our Thoughts

Here’s the thing with The Diamond Horseshoe:

  1. Very few people actually know about it OR they choose other restaurants over it without ever trying it
  2. It’s located in Liberty Square, one of the least popular areas of Magic Kingdom
  3. Currently, Diamond Horseshoe serves the same food as Liberty Tree Tavern which is often considered one of the best restaurants in the park. This wasn’t always the case, so some of these older reviews are likely about the past food served here.

So we actually encourage you to give this one a try the next time you’re in the park!
