ALERT! You May Want to CHANGE Your 2024 Disney World Hotel Reservations

If you’re booked at any of these Walt Disney World hotels in 2024, you may need to rethink things. 

Renovations and refurbishments are always a part of life at Walt Disney World, from rides to lands to full parks. The resort’s hotels often find themselves under the knife as well, which can sometimes cause issues for vacationers who’ve booked their trip far in advance, sometimes before Disney’s even announced the work. These are some of the major Disney hotel refurbs happening throughout the rest of 2024. 

Bay Lake Tower Room Renovation: September 2024 – September 2025

Beginning in September and scheduled to last approximately a year, this refurb will see the 15-year-old rooms at the Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort modernized and refurbished in batches. 

According to Disney, during the work, “Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized.”

Port Orleans French Quarter Room Renovation: May 2024 – November 2024

Similar to the Bay Lake Tower refurb, Port Orleans French Quarter Resort will see a running room refurbishment from through the middle of the year, from May to November. 

While Disney states that most hotel amenities will remain available during the refurb, they do stress that guests may “see or hear construction work during daytime hours.” 

Polynesian Resort DVC Tower Construction: 2024

For most of the year, with no officially confirmed end date, there will be massive construction at the Polynesian Village Resort. A new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) tower is under construction on the property, closest to the Aotearoa, Fiji, and Tuvalu longhouse buildings. 

According to Disney, this construction will lead guests to “see and hear construction and refurbishment work during daytime hours. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will begin no earlier than 9:00 AM.”

All-Star Movies Resort: July 2024

Disney has also announced that the World Premiere Food Court at All-Star Movies Resort will undergo renovation July 1-31, 2024.

During the renovations, you will be able to Mobile Order food and drinks through the My Disney Experience App, for pick-up at the food court. We don’t yet know if seating will be available inside the food court, or if all of those orders will need to be “to-go.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Disney has already announced some major renovations and refurbishments for some hotels.

In addition to the aforementioned Bay Lake Tower room renovation that will last until the fall of 25, they’ve also announced:

• Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed from January through June of 2025. 
• The Yacht Club will also be undergoing a room refurbishment from January through May 2025. 
• The Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for refurbishment from January through April 2025. 

If you’re booked at any of these Disney hotels during these renovation times, you may want to look into changing your trip. If that’s not an option, definitely prepare for the potential construction-related issues you may face. Stay tuned to AllEars for further Disney World construction news.
