Landing, just look for the giant striped hat on top of the entrance for
this attraction based on Dr. Seuss's most popular and beloved story of
the mischievous Cat In the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 and the day they spend
wreaking havoc while Mom's away. The Cat in the Hat --
While working your way through the queue of this showcase attraction
with its curved railings, be sure to keep an eye on the far wall for cute
sayings that suddenly appear every so often. Your ride vehicle is
a six-passenger couch that will spin, twist and rock as you pass
by 18 separate scenes that bring this crazy childhood story to life, with
more than 30 robotic characters. As The Cat and Thing 1 and Thing 2 tear
up the house, the goldfish in the teapot is the voice of reason and finally
warns them of Mom's return. As in the book, everything works out in the
end. This attraction is a must-see regardless of your age. It's a treat
for all of your senses... especially your sense of humor. Take advantage of one of Universal Express Pass options if the line is long.
If you feel the spinning motion may be too much for you, request that the spinning mechanism be disabled on your couch. Wheelchair users may remain in standard wheelchairs throughout the ride on the specially designed vehicles. The nearest restrooms are
located between One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Circus
McGurkus Cafe Stoo-Pendous Restaurant. A very overlooked little nook can be found next to the Cats, Hats & Things Shop. It's a private courtyard with a kid-size entrance where you will find Horton's Spotted Egg. Kids are invited to climb on top of it. Have your camera ready. Just outside of the Mulberry
Street Store is another fun photo opportunity that puts guests inside
a Seussian Police Motorcycle Side Car that is parading pass some of the
head honchos of Seuss Landing watching from their raised viewing
tent.
Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-Pendous featuring fried chicken, spaghetti, pizza and salad. Dine inside this ingeniously designed circus tent with animated mobiles of Seuss creatures overhead including trapeze flyers, upside down airplane flyers and other Seuss creations. The theming of Circus McGurkus will create lasting memories for everyone, as you dine in Circus Wagons. Green Eggs and Ham is another favorite for dining in Seuss Landing. The building is shaped like a colossal green ham with a gigantic fork stuck into the top. A slice of ham acts as the overhang for this walk-up eatery that features burgers, chicken fingers and of course, Green Eggs and Ham Sandwiches. Islands

of Adventure Shopping at a Glance The Cat In The Hat attraction can accommodate up to 1800 guests per hour. Everything in Seuss Landing was approved by Mrs. Giesel (Dr. Seuss' Wife) and was a main provision of the project. Dr. Seuss never drew straight lines in his illustrations. Everything was curved, slanted or "wonky". Therefore, there are no straight lines in Seuss Landing, which covers 10 acres. Everything is curved, including the palms trees and queue rails. Many of the odd-shaped palm trees were transplanted from South Florida and were the results of the fury of Hurricane Andrew. The background music you hear in Seuss Landing was created by some strange instruments such a harp made with rubber bands instead of strings. Dr. Seuss books have been translated into 27 different languages.
