These signs are located by the Star Wars ride and The Backlot Tour. They really help a first timer get to the characters they want to see.

Chewbacca is located across from the Star Wars attraction, but his line goes down to Sci-Fi Dine in. Be prepared to wait an hour or so but at least it is mostly in the shade and if you get tired you can sit on the curb.

Chewbacca takes lots of breaks, who can blame him, but he is very animated when he is there so it is well worth the wait. And lots of characters will pass down the street so you will have lots to see as you are waiting.

Queen Amidala is located to the left of the old Drew Carey attraction. (The event information table) Her line may not look long, but she takes a lot of time with each person and takes breaks every 15-20 minutes so it is very slow moving and in the direct sunlight.

If you get to her around 10am, you will have enough time to see her and then get a spot to stand before the 11:40 Celebrity Motorcade. (Although we were not able to get a spot in the shade, but at least we were front row.) Several people split their parties and waited in the line at the event table for tickets to the Jedi Training Academy as well.

Darth Vader is located totally under shade across from the Studio Catering Company. His line is usually long so if someone in your party wants to buy any special edition merchandise, they can do that while one person in the party waits in line for Vader.

Tip for buying special merchandise at Boba's Bounty. The line is quite long. The line starts at the end of the Backlot Tour where you go through the displays. IF you are there just to buy pins for passholders or DVC let an attendent inside know. They will move you to the front of the line. Those pins are sold right at the counter so you won't have to browse through any merchandise or wait in the line to "shop". (And the passholders do get their 10% discount)

Darth Goofy is located in the front of the park by the Great Movie Ride. When we arrived the line, which is totally in the direct sunlight, extended to the ice cream stand.

That is the perfect line length to see all four Disney Star Wars characters, Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Stormtrooper Donald and Darth Goofy.

Tip Just keep getting back in line and the character will change as you get to the front. The photo pass photograher or character handler will gladly use your camera to take a photo for you.

Stormtrooper Donald is located in the front of the park by The Great Movie Ride. If you keep getting back in line, you will able to see all 4 characters in about an hour. (They rotate every 15-20 minutes) When we were there the length of the line was out to the ice cream stand. Each character changed by the time we got to the front of the line and we were able to just keep rotating without having to wait for a different character.

Warning: the whole line is in the direct sunlight so afterwards you might want to grab something to eat at the ABC Commissary. It is air conditioned! And the chicken sandwich is made with a nice size piece of white meat chicken that comes with apple slices if you don't want the french fries.

Jedi Mickey and friends is located at the front of the park (near The Great Movie Ride). A good idea, especially in the hot weather, is to let one of your party get in line and everyone else sits in the shade till you get close. The entire line is in the direct sunlight.

The characters switch off every 15 - 20 minutes so if the line is longer and Jedi Mickey is taking photos chances are the next character will be there when you get to the front, BUT if you keep getting back in line, you can see all four characters - Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Stormtrooper Donald and Darth Goofy. It took us about an hour to see all four characters.

Another tip is that after the photo pass photographer takes the photo for the photo pass, they will use your camera if you hand it to them.

P.S. there is a ice cream stand at the back of the line.
