Hi!
I'm Anita!
Got
a question about Walt Disney World? I probably have the answer! Deb's
Unofficial Walt Disney World Information Guide is the most comprehensive
guide to the World on the Web, but if you still can't find the information
you're looking for by using the Site Map,
the Search
Function, or the Anita Answer Archives, drop
me a line and I'll do my best to find the answer for you. Since
there are only 24 hours in a day, I can't answer every email I receive
- however, I do read every one and try to answer as many as possible.
Check back weekly and see if your answer is waiting! Meanwhile, I'm All

I love
reading your answers to all of the questions. You have helped me to
make each trip to the World more enjoyable. On my last trip, my friend
noticed that all of the animals in the Pizzafari were upside down. Do
you why all of them are this way? Thanks again for all of your wonderful
knowledge.
Hi
Malese!
Not all
of the animals at Pizzafari are upside down. Each of Pizzafari's six
dining rooms is themed differently. The one you ate in is appropriately
called the "Upside Down Room," and yes, all the animals in
this room are depicted upside down.
Other themed
rooms are the Home Room, featuring animals that carry their homes with
them; the Nocturnal Room, with animals that only come out at night;
the Camouflage Room depicting animals that blend into their surroundings;
the Four Seasons Room, featuring animals throughout the seasons; and
the Bug Room which has, well... bugs in it!
Pizzafari
is my favorite Animal Kingdom restaurant,
and I try to eat there on each visit. You can read the menu on AllEarsNet.com's
Dining Pages.

With respect
to the First Aid stations located throughout WDW property, who works
at these stations? Specifically, are they Registered Nurses or other
employees trained in First Aid? As a Registered Nurse myself, I can't
think of a more exciting place to work! Thank you, Anita, for your column;
I look forward to it each week.
Hi
David!
The First
Aid Stations are staffed by Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered
Nurses. They can take care of most minor medical needs of guests. There
are also paramedics on call for bigger emergencies, and many Cast Members
are trained in CPR.
Having
visited most of the First Aid Stations in the parks over the years with
Minnie Answer, I can say with authority that the nurses there are great!

I've been
wondering about this since August of last year when we last went to
WDW. We hadn't been to WDW for six or seven years before that. My sister
and I remember something that we think was at Epcot. It was a Star Tours-type
ride where you were in a room, but you moved. It was a trip back in
time to Jerusalem. My sister and I Googled it once and I think we found
out that there was a ride similar to it in Universal Studios Orlando,
but I'm almost positive that I've never been to Universal Studios Orlando
in my life. Please help me!
Hi
Theresa!
The ride
you remember was called "Journey to Jerusalem" and it was
part of the Millennium Village Pavilion at Epcot
from October 1, 1999 - January 1, 2001. It was located at the Israel
exhibit inside the pavilion. The ride took you on a journey from modern-day
Jerusalem to ancient Jerusalem and back.
The Millennium
Village was a temporary pavilion built specially for Epcot's
Millennium celebration, which hosted exhibits, food and art from approximately
30 countries around the world. When the celebration ended, the Millennium
Village ended as well.
These days,
the pavilion, which is located between the Canada
Pavilion and the UK Pavilion,
is only used for special events.

I just
read a tip on the All Ears® newsletter that "Heelys" are
no longer allowed in Disney World. Can you verify if this is true? I
was just buying my niece and nephews Heelys as well as a pair for myself
to cruise around the parks on our family reunion event in May. When
I was there last year every kid had them on. Has something happened?
Hi Tania!
This is
not a new policy. Wheeled footwear such as "Heely"-type shoes,
in-line skates, and roller skates have always been banned from the parks.
This is also true of scooters and skateboards. It appears that park
management has finally decided to fully enforce this rule, probably
due to the fact that so many people are suddenly arriving in the parks
wearing "Heelys."
I've recently
heard rumors that guests wearing "Heelys" were threatened
with fines, so to avoid an unpleasant experience, it would be better
to leave the wheels at home.

Thanks
for all your hard work.
Some years
ago, Maya Angelou was the narrator for the Hall of Presidents. At some
point in the past few years, this has changed to a new person. What
prompted the change and who is the current narrator? Thanks!
Hi Bob!
The narrators
for the Hall of Presidents have been:
1971 -
1993: Lawrence Dobkin
1993 - 2001: Maya Angelou
2001 - present: J.D. Hall
I don't
know exactly why Maya Angelou was replaced, but I do know that each
time a new president is elected, the roll call must be re-recorded.
Perhaps with President George W. Bush coming into office, the Imagineers
thought it was time for a change.
You can
read more about the Hall of Presidents
on AllEarsNet.com.
TRIVIA:
You can also hear actor J.D. Hall as the voice of Frederick Douglass
in Disneyland's Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

If all
access to parks is by ticket and finger scan, why do we still need to
get our hands stamped on the way out of the park when we plan to return
later? It just seems unnecessary and redundant.
Hi
Audrey!
You'll
be glad to hear that hand stamps are no longer required to re-enter
the parks. They were phased out when the new Magic Your Way tickets
were introduced and the finger scanners were installed at every turnstile.
You can
read more about WDW tickets and how to use them on AllEarsNet.com's
Ticket FAQ.
