Dear Friends,

It's time for my annual participation in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This will be my 10th year participating and my 11th breast cancer event.

This year I have decided to once again hit the pavement and WALK. Last year's walk was an amazing journey. I met many survivors but also sadly, many folks who are fighting this disease or have lost a loved one. In addition to celebrating 23 years of being a survivor, I continue to be involved in the fight against Breast Cancer to spread awareness about this dreaded disease.

How can I not continue this effort after letters like these?

"You may remember that I had written you last year about my experience with breast cancer. Your story helped me feel hope, at a very hopeless time in my life, and you continue to inspire me as a powerful example of survivorship. I thank God every day for bringing you into my life when I needed it most and for the part you have (unknowingly) played in my recovery"

"My wife, who I love very much, was just diagnosed with breast cancer. We have been married for many years and I am a "Basket Case". She is trying to remain strong for me but that is very difficult."

Last year you helped me raise over $40,000! This year I hope to raise $50,000. I can't do it without your support. Many of you have supported me throughout the years. For that I thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I know these are very difficult times for many people due to the economy. It's also a very difficult time for those who are fighting Breast Cancer. Please consider supporting me now in the fight against breast cancer!!
